Porcelain Crabs; Porcellanidae

You definitely need an expert PADI divemaster to help you find Porcelain Crabs when scuba diving – they are highly elusive! We have only seen them up until now at dives sites around Koh Phangan.
The name comes from their delicate body structure – they can lose limbs if attacked and then regrow them later.

This is a different Porcelain Crab for sure, living on skinny Sea Pens, but we have no definitive identification as yet.

Photographed on a Pteroeides species Sea Pen and we haven't seen them on anything else up to now.

Found in small Sponges and Pocillopora Corals.
