The Poritidae family includes 2 corals that we meet on scuba dives or snorkelling around Koh Phangan. We often spot them at many other locations in the Gulf of Thailand as well… We have the massive Pore Corals. They form the main structure of many of our coral reefs. And the beautiful Goniopora or Anemone Corals. These are so called because of their extended coralla. They partially resemble the long tentacles of  Sea Anemones (but with flowers on their tips…).
