Some of our best diving in the last week or so has been at local dive sites around Koh Phangan, especially Koh Kong, Laem Chua and Koh Ma. Sadly it seems that Sail Rock and Koh Tao are temporarily off the agenda until the …. Southeast wind stops blowing, but the good news is that the forecast shows it finishing in the next few days – we will surely keep you updated!
The diving school team have still been busy, Michi teaching a sequence of Padi Open Water Diver courses and Michael has just successfully completed an Advanced O/W Diver programme (our congratulations to Evelyn and Domenic). In his quest this year to introduce more Padi Master Scuba Divers to the world, Gavin has now taught the ever-enthusiastic Marina her 5 Specialty courses and it’s now just a case of logging a few fun dives – 2 hours of sand combing with Nick should be next on the schedule!
On the marine life front, everyone at the dive centre was impressed by the new video from our Chaloklum neighbours, Core Sea, regarding the wonderful Sail Rock and the importance of protecting it – we should be hearing more from them. And finally, and slightly selfishly, it’s great to suddenly see Nudibranch reappearing after the rainy season – a week or so ago we had zilch, and then yesterday 4 different beasties spotted on a 1 hour dive in the bay – Great!
