The Dive School blog is up and running again, with apologies to the Chaloklum Diving supporters out there who actually like to hear our small news from Koh Phangan! We’ve had OK dive conditions at Sail Rock for the last few days (and a whale shark 2 days ago), but today the sun shone and the sea was nice and calm too – Michi was able to do shallow water dive training at the back of the dive centre this morning for the first time in weeks.
We have heard nothing about a change in conditions at Anthong Marine Park (please, please let there be..) so are planning to take our boat to Koh Tao on Saturday to do some snorkelling as well as scuba diving.
As it says in the headline we are quite busy at the moment teaching PADI beginners courses – currently in English, German and French – it’s great to have a lively diving school again. We’ve also been taking fun divers out boat diving most days, plus a few people Discovering Scuba Diving at Mae Haad Reef. And it looks like Michael himself might be teaching an Open Water Diver course in the next few days, as the brother of an ex-student from years ago has come to Chaloklum specifically to learn with “the legend”!
Our PADI Divemaster trainee, the mighty Radboud is due back from Bangkok tonight, hopefully recovered from the stress of passing both his theory exams as well as 2 watermanship assessments and a diver rescue (he loves it really) – it’s time to have some fun and assist some dive courses now man – you’ve earned it!!
Having recovered from the shock of having some of our Sea Cucumbers featured on Wikipedia, we are back to the usual steady uploading and pruning of images in the Marine Life Gallery – the next project will be the sorting out of the Octocorals, if such a thing is humanly possible.
