The Tasselled Filefish, also known as the Prickly Leatherjacket, was unknown to us until 2021! When our Rescue Diver-to-be showed us the underwater photo and video we realised that this was a new species for us.

Many thanks to Rosh, who was told by Koh Phangan locals that this fish is actually quite common around Mae Haad Reef and Koh Ma. We must get more observant when diving over the corals!
