Bornella stellifer; Bornellidae

We first sighted Bornella stellifer when SCUBA diving in the North of Koh Phangan in 2010 and up until now nowhere else.
The red-patterned, white body has dorsal and lateral outgrowths, with cerata-like branches. Each outgrowth has an attached cluster of gills. The rounded head has a tentacle on each side of the mouth, with finger-like papillae, looking rather like hands. Fascinating, eh?
