The Gulf of Thailand is calm, the weather is generally sunny (with the occasional serious shower), the SCUBA diving and snorkelling conditions are good and we even have whale sharks making appearances at Sail Rock. It’s such a shame that this time of the year is meant to be our rainy season!!
Over the last few years we’ve been seeing this change in the weather – and now we’re trying to let divers know that there can be a chance of great diving on quieter dive sites at this time of year.
Longer trips are off the agenda at present, so we’re not making any plans to take our boat up to Koh Tao, however we would love the chance to get out to Anthong Marine Park with the current conditions…
As this blog is being written the only PADI professionals hanging out at the dive centre are the bosses! Michi is taking his annual break – exploring Laos for a few weeks, Sascha is on a visa run, Petra heads back to Germany in a few days and Jan is laid low with a fever (take care man!). Meaning that Michael actually has the pleasure of teaching a beginners course himself, while Nick has to look for his chance to get out for some underwater photography…
Quiet times also mean that we can get on with plans for the coming season – updates for the Open Water Diver course, including more PADI elearning options, and what about the occasional non-diving big boat “sunset trip” with fine food from Lek and a cold beer or 2 ?
