Update from a quiet Koh Phangan

Strange days…  Koh Phangan feels even more like a sensible place to be at the moment. In case you’re wondering, as it’s always been Chaloklum Diving policy, we intend keeping the school open. We can at least provide a diving and snorkelling service for the few folks who are left here! So, as always seems to happen, the diving conditions have now decided to improve even more, with much better visibility at Sail Rock and reports of good diving at Anthong Marine Park at last. At the diving centre our team have actually been quite busy over the last week or so with a bunch...

The Return of the Chaloklum Diving Blog!

Well… It seems that stopping our diving blog was not the best idea!! Our supporters have said that they enjoyed reading our occasional news bulletins and keeping in touch with the dive school via the website. What’s more, the mighty Google prefers that we make regular postings to our websites – so, we better get on with it! Farewell to the Chaloklum Diving blog!!

It’s been low season for a while at the dive centre – time once again to think about all those jobs that we forgot to do. And we’ve realised that it’s over 9 months since we posted our last Koh Phangan update! On checking with our social media experts, it seems like blogs are not really the done thing any longer – therefore it’s got to be time for us to write the last post (a mournful trumpet blows in the background, etc…). Here we go:- Our nice new Chaloklum Diving sub-office, based on the main road is now finished and working. A little earlier than...

Viguieriotidae, Xmas Soft Coral

Posted by on Jan 25, 2019 in | Comments Off on Viguieriotidae, Xmas Soft Coral

Xmas Soft Coral has a quite different growth form from the Neptheidae soft corals. For whatever reason it is not a member of any suborder – a unique family! All these underwater photographs were taken at local dive sites in the Chaloklum Bay...
