Chaloklum Diving get back to work!
So, we are very happy to confirm that the diving school is open again. We have the go ahead for SCUBA diving and PADI training, based here on Koh Phangan. As regards our big boat, we are still waiting to hear if it’s OK to go out for dive trips to Sail Rock and beyond. Of course we will let you know as soon as we know! We are not expecting a lot of action on Koh Phangan in the near future, so we’re planning to keep the team busy at least (!) with some promotions and activities over the next month. Strange days… Koh Phangan feels even more like a sensible place to be at the moment. In case you’re wondering, as it’s always been Chaloklum Diving policy, we intend keeping the school open. It’s been low season for a while at the dive centre – time once again to think about all those jobs that we forgot to do. It’s a great relief to be able to offer good diving conditions this January. Looking back to the same time last year on Koh Phangan we were not so lucky! At the moment Sail Rock has clear water and little current, our local dive sites are clearing up – fine for dive courses and snorkelling already, and diving trips to the Marine Park and maybe Koh Tao are in the pipeline… And the dive centre is reasonably busy, principally with PADI Open Water Diver courses and fun diving trips. After a relatively hectic August on Koh Phangan, September has not turned out to be a busy month for the dive school – although as so often happens, we’ve had some great SCUBA diving and snorkelling to offer.
