Where does the time go on Koh Phangan?

Chaloklum Diving team return to Koh Phangan from Anthong Marine Park.Well, it feels like just a few weeks since we last posted a Chaloklum Diving blog but it’s actually nearly 2 months – we must be having too much fun!
August has been a busy month as per normal, although the weather has been a little shaky at times, and it’s been great to get out to Anthong Marine Park on a regular basis again – with generally fine diving and snorkelling.
We were surprised when conditions went down at Sail Rock a week or so ago, but are happy to say that they were back to 20+ metre vis and gentle current yesterday.
Diving trips to Koh Tao have not been as popular as they used to be, although we have managed to make an enjoyable excursion or 2 to the quieter dive sites on the East coast.
So of course the dive centre’s PADI pro’s have been busy – a serious number of people doing the Discover SCUBA Diving programme in addition to our usual PADI courses and fun divers. Michi has certified yet more Open Water Divers, while Matt is currently putting some time in on our 2 ongoing Divemaster programmes – well done to Stephi and Alan, working hard on their first watermanship assessments!
Cheerio to Divemaster and friend of the diving school, Mr Thermidor – you’re missed maan, and to Madame Raluca – it was great to meet up and to take you diving again after too long a time; shame you couldn’t stay longer or bring that man with you (Hi Guy – next time eh?)!
Looking forward to seeing Mr Heinz back again soon, and for the boss to have a chance to do some underwater photography at the Marine Park – please, please…
